Hannah Hicks Art

Bold, Beautiful, Halifax

My approach to art is to choose my colours carefully and then let the creative process happen. I use a variety of techniques with ink, such as allowing the ink to run by thinning some colours and tilting the piece, blowing air on the ink to make it spread, and varying the size of drops I apply. This piece, “Bold, Beautiful Halifax”, is an explosion of colour and shapes to represent how diverse, creative, and stunning the North End is.

Image Description

The image features inkblots of various shapes and colours. Blue, teal, red, orange, pink, and purple are the most prominent and are all very bright. The colours have been blown around and many are overlapping to create a vibrantly coloured image.
