Aerosan

Aerosan, based in Halifax, Canada is on a mission to provide sanitation to the world’s poorest and most vulnerable. Aerosan has developed robust dry sanitation systems that can be installed quickly and easily during emergency and development settings at low cost. The toilets, which can be manufactured flat packed and shipped in Canada, are designed to be adapted and maintained using locally sourced materials. Our toilets fully contain excreta without the need for chemicals and a focus on user-friendly designs that promote low-odour and reduced opportunities for vector transmission. However, our most important focus areas continue to be building sanitation solutions that are suitable for difficult to serve areas, such as those with high water tables, flood prone, rocky ground and high density, as well as a desire to promote waste-to-value solutions. We address this problem by building above ground pit latrine systems.
