  • Description

Welcome to The Third Beat Dance Studio — a vibrant, welcoming dance community in the heart of Halifax’s North End.

We believe dance is about so much more than learning steps. It’s about music, movement, confidence, connection, culture, and finding a community where you feel at home.

We offer Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Urban Kiz, solo dance, styling, body movement, musicality, turns and technique, and more, with classes designed for everyone from absolute beginners to experienced dancers looking to grow.

Never danced before? You’re absolutely welcome here. No partner is required for most classes, and you don’t need any previous experience to get started. Our goal is to create a supportive, relaxed environment where you can learn at your own pace, meet new people, challenge yourself, and most importantly — have fun.

Beyond weekly classes, The Third Beat hosts social dance nights and special events where Halifax’s dance community can come together, practice, connect, and enjoy the music.

Whether you’re looking for a new hobby, want to build confidence on the dance floor, improve your technique, meet new people, or simply add more music and movement to your life, we’d love to welcome you.

The North End of Halifax is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. The people of the Mi’kmaw Nation have lived on this territory for millennia, and we acknowledge them as the past, present and future caretakers of this land.
