Call to Artists🎨 Art Banner Project Phase 2!

Phase 2 of the Art Banner project has begun!

Through the beauty of community, the North End Business Association (NEBA) hopes to canvas the North End neighborhood with art. The North End of Halifax houses a diverse community, and we want to see how you would represent it through your art. The ultimate goal is twofold, first to see the vibrant representation of the community that lives here and secondly, to celebrate all of the talent and creativity that we have in our neighborhood! The North End is rooted in multiculturalism, DIY, and community-minded living. A place where culture, diversity, and creativity thrive.

The North End Business Association is seeking submissions from artists of various disciplines, skill levels and backgrounds to fill our neighbourhood with art! Chosen artists will have their work prominently displayed in a series of community art banners on light poles throughout the North End Halifax district.

Details:

Artists will be compensated with a $350.00 honorarium
Limited 2 entries per person/team.
Up to 30 entries will be selected for inclusion in the project. Selected entries will be printed professionally on 2' x 4' vinyl banners.
Artist(s) must submit an explanation describing their approach to art and their connection to the North End.
Artist must submit a written description of the art submission Artist must submit a personal Bio
Artwork can be old or new work
Special consideration is given to artists who demonstrate art that considers accessibility for low vision communities.

Technical Specifications:

The artwork must be scalable to 20" x 33"
Oriented in a portrait layout
High-resolution image minimum 300 dpi All mediums accepted but, submitted work must be a digital file - accepted formats are jpeg, png, pdf, tiff.
For digital art, CMYK colors are preferred.
All files submitted must be named appropriately (example: Artist named Jones. Files names Jones1, Jones2, Jones3. ect. )
