North End Community Health Center
The North End Community Health Centre (NECHC) has been a pillar of accessible healthcare for more than half a century. It was initially established in Halifax’s North End through the pioneering efforts of three visionary women who successfully engaged a team of physicians from Dalhousie Medical School to create the area’s first primary health clinic. LOVE NS
LOVE was founded in 1993 by Sheila (Twinkle) Rudberg who was inspired to end the cycle of violence in the lives of youth. following the death of her husband by a 14-year old boy, Twinkle came to see that the youth himself was a victim of violence. What started as a small, grassroots, youth photojournalism project running out of the basement of Montreal's Dawson College soon blossomed into a well-established program, warmly recognized for the meaningful impact it was having on young people, with programs offered in Quebec, British Columbia and Nova Scotia.

Shelter Nova Scotia
Shelter Nova Scotia supports people in times of crisis and transition through residential, trustee and outreach programs. To this end, we operate seven facilities in the HRM – six over-night plus our drop-in Hub Resource Centre, providing a night of rest to 106 people and providing support to hundreds more, 365 days a year.
