On behalf of the Viola Desmond Legacy Committee, we invite you to a community conversation on a legacy art project we are working on to commemorate the impact of Viola Desmond’s activism and business contributions. As community members, we value your feedback and hope to learn from you what you feel are important elements of Viola's story and how best to share this story through art.

We have scheduled a community consultation (Monday, Dec. 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm) at the Delmore Buddy Daye Learning Institute, 5450 Cornwallis St, to talk about the project and the community’s vision. Due to Covid, we have a limited number of seats available for the in-person session. Please register in advance at events@gonorthhalifax.com

You can also attend virtually by Zoom.

The session will be facilitated by Amanda Reddick.

Refreshments will be served.

If you can not attend the session on Dec. 6th, feedback can also be provided by filling out the survey Here

The North End of Halifax is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. The people of the Mi’kmaw Nation have lived on this territory for millennia, and we acknowledge them as the past, present and future caretakers of this land.
